In commemoration of World Autism Day Care 2011, falls on the 2nd of April every year, Autism Society of Indonesia (MPATI) launched Indonesia's first autism comic, entitled "Son of Autism Companions We All".
This comic contains the translation of autism as well as illustrations of the proper parenting to know parents and teachers who teach in school children with special needs.
According to founder MPATI, Gayatri Pamoedji, is still much less clear information about autism and this often makes a lot of families tend to worry and just keep them away from society.
"We hope the comic is to provide information that is easily understood by the family of Indonesia about the proper upbringing for children with autism to help them live more independent," says Gayatri in Jakarta on Wednesday (30/03/2011).
MPATI intentionally make education in the comic version, so that people can more easily see and understand about the behavior of children with autism bears. "Comics are nice views, and more easily readable, and the children would be more easy to understand," he explained.
To be able to continue program disseminate information to the autism community, the plan in next year MPATI will make a workshop for parents and teachers. Not only that, if already completed, MPATI also plans to create an animated version, hoping to be more easily understood.
Comics autism is planned to be published in serial with a price of Rp 5,000 per piece and the proceeds will be used to support programs related to the progress of the dissemination of information about autism.
"There is clear information and family support will pave the way for children with autism to live independently," said Gayatri.
